North Yorkshire Web Design (formerly FAC Systems) is based in Thirsk, North Yorkshire. This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why, and what your rights are. If you have any questions, contact us at info@northyorkshirewebdesign.co.uk or 07732 203258.
Contact form. When you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if given) and message. This is sent directly to our mailbox so we can reply to your enquiry — it isn't added to a mailing list or used for anything else.
reCAPTCHA.Our contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA v3 to reduce spam submissions. reCAPTCHA runs a background check and may set cookies or process your IP address and browser data to do this. This is covered by Google's own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, not ours. If reCAPTCHA can't verify a submission (for example, if your browser blocks it), the form still works — we simply rely on other spam checks instead.
Map on the contact page. Our contact page embeds a Google Maps view of Thirsk. Loading that map means your browser makes a request to Google, which may set its own cookies under its privacy policy linked above.
Hosting. This site is hosted with Hostinger. Like most web hosts, basic technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) are processed automatically to keep the site running securely — we don't use this for tracking or profiling visitors.
We don't run advertising trackers or third-party analytics on this site.
Beyond the reCAPTCHA and Google Maps cookies described above, this site stores one small note in your browser (using local storage, not a tracking cookie) to remember that you've seen the cookie notice, so it doesn't show again on your next visit. No advertising or analytics cookies are set by us.
We keep contact form enquiries only as long as needed to respond to you and, where relevant, deliver any work agreed — after which we delete them unless we're required to keep records for a legitimate business reason (such as invoicing).
Under UK GDPR, you can ask to see what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how it's used. To do this, email info@northyorkshirewebdesign.co.uk. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator.
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. See also our Terms & Conditions.
